Sameer Wankhede: NCB seizes 17.3 kg Hashish- Charas, originating from Kashmir
Mr. Sameer Wankhede, NCB Mumbai -Zonal Head- said “NCB seized 17.3 kg Hashish- (Charas) from Kashmir, 4.4 lakhs cash, in two operations in Mumbai-Thane.”
In the first operation, NCB Mumbai intercepted 04 persons namely Kamlesh Gupta, Amit Praksh Patel, Rajvinder Singh, Gurmit Singh and recovered 2 Kgs of Charas(Hashish) along with Cash of Rs. 2.20 Lakh at room booked at Gurudwara, Dadar, Mumbai and in the house of Kamlesh Gupta.
Two accused persons intercepted namely Rajvinder Singh and Gurmit Singh have travelled from Punjab to Mumbai on Two-wheeler and were carrying the contraband in their backpack.
On disclosure of Kamlesh Gupta, a team of NCB Mumbai raided the house of Noor Mohmmad Jumman at Chunabhatti, Mumbai in the late night of 14.06.2021 and recovered 3.3 Kgs of Charas (Hashish) and cash Rs. 2.20 lakh.
NCB Mumbai registered the case in Crime No 57/2021.
Mr Wankhede said, “In the 2nd operation-
the team of NCB Mumbai intercepted 02 persons namely Shabir Usman Shaikh & Nizamuddin Ahmad Taza and recovered 12 Kgs of Charas(Hashish) at Arjun Ali Toll Plaza, Padga, Bhiwandi, Thane on 15.06.2021.
As per preliminary investigation seized Hashish had arrived from Jammu & Kashmir.”
Mr Sameer Wankhede further added, “NCB,MZU had launched continuous surveillance for four days round the clock. Despite taking all due precautions and continuously changing locations, team of NCB MZU was successful in nabbing the accused persons with the contraband.”
NCB Mumbai registered the case in Crime No 58/2021.
