DCP Narcotics Datta Nalawade: Tanzanian caught with 52 lakhs cocaine from Bandra-Mumbai
“A Tanzanian National Nico Pius John was arrested by ANC-Anti Narcotics cell Bandra Unit with 52 lakhs worth cocaine, opposite Amardeep Co-op Society, Bandra west, has been remanded to Police custody,” said DCP (ANC) Mr Datta Nalawade.
The Tanzanian National was intercepted by ANC- Anti Narcotics cell , Bandra Unit Incharge Inspector Chavan and his team on specific information that African Nationals are indulging in Drug peddling in Cocaine to high-end customers both in South Mumbai and Suburbs.
When intercepted and asked to show the contents of the bag he was carrying on his shoulder, Accused Nico Pius John accepted that he was carrying cocaine when weighed was 205 grammes that was worth Rs. 51,25,000
A case has been registered 53/2021 under sections 8 (k), read with 21(k) of NDPS act 1975. The accused is residing at Kamathipura, Nagpada, Mumbai and has been arrested earlier also under NDPS act.
