Bollywood Celebrities are known to be embroiled in controversies and later find themselves in bad light.

In a fresh case husband-wife duo Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia both actors have courted controversy over allocation of a plot in their home town of Latur in Maharashtra.

However, in a twist to the controversy, BJP obtained the information on the land allocation under the Right to Information (RTI) and has charged Riteish and Genelia of special favours accorded to them by the Maharashtra Government. After all Riteish is the son of former Maha CM late Vilasrao Deshmukh.

According to reports, BJP’s Latur city vice president Pradeep More in his allegation affirms that during the tenure of the former Maha Vikas Aghadi( MVA) government, a plot of Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation( MIDC) in Latur was given out of turn to the Bollywood couple.

Adding that Riteish Deshmukh and his wife Genelia formed a company im the name and style as Desh Agro Pvt Ltd., with a capital of Rs 7.5 crore in which both have a 50% stake. The state-run industrial corporation allotted the plot just 10 days following the submission of the application.

As per the company all norms were followed during the allotment process and denied illegality. The actor-couple are yet to respond to the allegations.

As per reports, the company applied for a plot to build an agro-processing plant on April 5, 2021, and the plot was allotted to the company on April 15, 2021. While their company was formed on March 23, 2021, according to More. The BJP leader also alleged that though the company’s capital was worth Rs 7.5 crore, an amount of Rs 15 crore was paid for a plot of 2,52,726 square metres.

The Shiv Sena-led ruling coalition MVA, which also consisted of the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), was in power in Maharashtra during that period.

Riteish Deshmukh is the son of Maharashtra’s former chief minister late Vilasrao Deshmukh. His elder brother Amit Deshmukh was a minister in the MVA government while his younger brother is an MLA from Latur district.
