In a new development, the Delhi High Court passes interim order restraining people from using Bollywood’s Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan’s name, voice, pic without sans his consent.
The order was passed by Justice Navin Chawla, Delhi High Court.
As per reports, the legendary actor has filed a suit in the Delhi high court against the world at large, to protect his name, image, voice, and personality attributes.
Celebrity lawyer Harish Salve appeared for Amitabh Bachchan.
Notably, Justice Chawla observed that the offenders were taking advantage of the lengendary actor’s celebrity status merely for their business promotion without his consent.
He felt that it may impact on the senior Bachchan’s activities to a large extent.Bachchan represents various commercials.
Moreover, Bachchan is furious over the use of his celebrity status by defendants merely to promote their own goods and services without his permission or authorisation.
Having considered the plaint, Justice Chawla attributed that a prima facie case was made out.
The suit also stated that Bachchan’s name, image and voice were being used by mobile application developers to conduct lotteries by illegally associating with Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC).
Bachchan has also sought a restraining order against book publishers, T-shirt vendors and various other businesses.
The matter will be heard in March 2023.
