Mumbai Police arrest 17 Foreign Nationals for shooting for Bollywood film without Work Visa
Acting on an information that
Foreign Nationals are shooting for Bollywood film without Work Visa in Dahisar, Senior Inspector Pravin Patil of Dahisar police station debuted a team to Konkani Pada locality in Dahisar where a Hindi film shoot was in progress.
A case was registered against 17 foreign nationals, including 10 women. The Police on checking documents found that they were not in possession of valid work visa and were illegally shooting for a Bollywood film.
The Police Official further added that these foreigners were allegedly drawn from Goa by one of the suppliers, who is also under scanner now. A leading Bollywood production house had hired them to work in its film for which shooting was on in Dahisar.
They have been booked under relevant sections of the Foreigners Act, and notice has been served on them and investigation is underway.
The action was initiated based on the complaint lodged by Shree Naik, a functionary of Mumbai Congress’s entertainment industry wing.
As per Naik said, they came to know that many foreigners drawn from Goa were shooting for a movie at L P Shingte Film Studio in Dahisar. These people do not have proper work visa. Therefore, they approached the police for action.
