Rohit Shetty ropes in Deepika Padukone in his cop universe ‘Singham 3’

Rohit Shetty all this time around has been casting only male for his cop universe.

But now for a change he has roped in renowned actor Deepika Padukone for his “Singham 3” and reportedly the film is scheduled to mount the sets in mid-2023.

It’s for the first time that Deepika has been cast to essay the role of cop with Ajay Devgn.

It is a known fact that it has been Rohit Shetty who created his cop universe in Bollywood with films like *Singham*, *Simmba* and *Sooryavanshi*. The films were headed by Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, and Akshay Kumar respectively and portrayed them as daredevil cops. It is now in a first, that Rohit Shetty introduces a female cop in his cop universe with Deepika Padukone.

Deepika along with Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty were spotted at the launch of the song “Current Laga Re” from the film “Cirkus”.

Deepika makes a special appearance in the song along with Ranveer who plays a dual role in the film which is slated for a theatrical release on December 23. The film also features Pooja Hegde, Varun Sharma, Jacqueline Fernandez, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, among others.

Meanwhile, Deepika and Rohit have earlier worked together in *Chennai Express* released in 2014 which turned out to be a super hit film at the box office.
