Madhuri Dixit (Nene) wanted to be micro-biologist, but life took a different turn and she was destined to become an actor in Indian Cinema.
Interestingly Madhuri was also recognised as ‘Madhubala and ‘Maryln Monroe of Bollywood.
She never had to struggle to reach the No.1 Slot unlike other actors. She dominated Bollywood as a leading actor and an accomplished dancer.
Her most popular box-office hits has been as Dil (1990), Saajan (1991), Beta (1992), Khalnayak (1993), Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! (1994) Raja (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Mrityudand (1997), Pukar (2000), Lajja (2001) Devdas (2002) and finaly Aaja Nachle in 2007.Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! (1994), Beta (1992), Dil (1990), and many others. She as well functioned on many other famous movies of that period, involving Raja (1995), Khalnayak (1993), Saajan (1991), Kishen Kanhaiya (1990), Thanedaar (1990), Tridev (1989), Ram Lakhan (1989), and many others, which were commercially successful in the box office as well.
In recognition of her great talent, Dixit has been honoured with several Filmfare Awards for Best Actor. She holds the record for the highest number of Best Actor nominations at Filmfare. She was the proud recepient of Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award by the Government of India in 2008.
She also topped Rediff’s list of the ‘Best Bollywood Actor Ever’, on Women’s International Day, in 2007.
