It is an established fact and very much known in Bollywood that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a ‘Perfectionist’. He never comprises on roles. If he signs any actor for his film be it a male or female, he expects flawless work from them and also expects them to be serious on the role offered to them. That’s precisely the reason why why Sanjay Leela is different from other filmmakers.

Now news comes to the fore that the period filmmaker has gone to the extent of scrapping roles of actors of the status of Shabana Azmi and yesteryear actor Mumtaz from his most ambitious project “Heeramandi”. He is now all set to hire alternative actors for “Heeramandi”

The role offered to both Shabana and Mumtaz were significant and brief.The script was written keeping in mind about the the seasoned actors. but brief roles.

When Shabana and Mumtaz were not available for Heeramandi, Sanjay decided to scrap the roles. He doesn’t want to offer the roles to anybody.

Heeramandi also features Sonakashi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Huma Qureshi and Manisha Koirala.

Reportedly, the series is being shot on huge sets representing a sprawling kotha. The shooting is taking longer than expected. Sequences that were meant to be shot in one day are taking as much as three days.

Sources say Netflix has full faith in Bhansali and are not drawing any budget boundaries. “Netflix knows about the Bhansali magic. As per an insider, they are fully committed to the project, adding that Netflix is looking at Heeramandi as their game-changer in India
