Throwback: Saroj Khan Once Slapped Shah Rukh Khan

Unquestionably, Saroj Khan was one of the most celebrated choreographers Bollywood ever had. Her dance step was unique in itself and there has been no repetitions.

For the unversed, as a dance legend Saroj has delivered several hits during her time like Ek Do Teen and Dhak Dhak Karne Laga, amongst others.
She was responsible to groom Madhuri Dixit as a dancer par excellence.

However, over the years, her passing away in 2020, has left a deep impact on the industry and her death was at a time when the nation was still under lockdown amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Shah Rukh Khan, in 2018 had opened up on the close bond he shared with Saroj Khan as they worked together in several films in the late 1990s and early 2000s. In an interaction with the media, the actor highlighted how he was once slapped by the choreographer for something he said.

A few years prior to her demise, Shah Rukh Khan had opened up on the rapport he shared with Sarojji and how she would often guide him whenever possible.

The actor went on to add that Sarojji, I am too tired, there is too much work. For this, she slapped me on the cheek, saying never ever complain on having too much work. In this area of work, there is never too much work. Shah Rukh felt it fortunate that he has so much to choose from. So, no pressure.
