Sanjay Leela Bhansali to commence shoot for ‘Baiju Bawra in June-July

Following the highly successful film Vijay Bhatt he Vijay Bhatt directorial musical romantic film Baiju Bawra released way back in 1952 starring Bharat Bhushan and Meena Kumar, now period filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is into making the film with Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt.

latest reports reveals that the veteran filmmaker has already commenced work on the film intends to start filming in the middle of this year.

This news comes after Sanjay Leela Bhansali unveiled the first glimpse of his web series, Heeramandi, supported by Netflix.

With Heeramandi now on its final segment in Mumbai, Bhansali has been working on Baiju Bawra for a very long time and has already written a compelling script for the film since it seems to be very personal to him.

A source from the filmmaker’s production house reveals that preparation for the Baiju Bawra shoot has also started and the filmmaker intends to start filming Baiju Bawra in either June or July. His performers have already received requests for dates. Production will start after the final dates are confirmed because a significant amount of the movie will be shot on Mumbai sets.

Interestingly, this will be Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh’s third collaboration, following Gully Boy by Zoya Akhtar and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani by Karan Johar. After Gangubai Kathiawadi, Baiju Bawra brings the actor and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali back.

Notably, after Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani, and Padmaavat, Baiju Bawra will be Bhansali’s fourth collaboration with Ranveer.

Meanwhile, the first glimpse of ‘Heeramandi’ has already sparked a lot of buzz amongst the audinces and it would be quite exciting to witness the realm of Bhansali with the stunning leading ladies of the show on Netflix.
