Tawaifs well recognised for their mesmerising eyes, return in Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial “Heeramandi” new series on Netflix.
Reportedly, the poster of “Heeramandi” which traces the lives of six courtesans in pre-Independence India was recently unveiled in the presence of Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos, and features six actors Manisha Koirala,
Aditi Rao Hydari and Sonakshi Sinha, resplendent in similar attire and heavy jewels.
The visuals exhibits sensuality, beauty and poetry, but the series of shots also suggest damage and sadness.
The tagline used by Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the Magnum Opus Netflix series is
“Where courtesans were Queens.” The series likely to premiere early next year, narrates the story of a group
of courtesans in Pre-Independence India.
