Rumi Jaffrey filmmaker screenplay writer and a very old friend of Satish Kaushik recalls that his sudden demise has
completely shaken him.
He went on to add that he was much worried about his daughter Vanshika and wanted to live long enough to see her settled in life. But God had other plans.

Rumi in choked voice recalled that when he got the news of Satish’s death early Thursday morning, he rushed to his home with wife to be with Satish’s wife Shashi and daughter Vanshika. His wife is very attached to Vanshika. She just clung to the child and sat quietly adding we are all in a state of disbelief over his sudden demise.

As per Rumi, Satish was in fine health, in high spirits and had many more things to do. Few days ago he had dinner together at Anupam Kher’s birthday and there was never an idle moment for Satish.

Rumi and Satish were friends for more than 30 years and his sudden departure to immortality wasn’t expected.is not fair). He wasn’t sick and was taking care of his health, eating on time, was going on morning walks. He was travelling too much. When he told him he was going to Delhi on a friend’s invitation, he cautioned him against so much travelling. But he silenced him saying it was a commitment to a friend. Were we to know this would be his last journey?”
He also recalled his first meeting with Satish which happened on the sets of
Mr India. It was that time when he had come to Mumbai from his hometown Bhopal for a holiday. During that time, he was in two minds about starting his career in the Hindi film industry. He wanted to see a film shooting and reached the sets of Mr India, the film which immortalised Satish as Calendar. It was that moment when Rumi made up his mind that he wants to be a part of the film industry.
In another interview, friends of the late star revealed that he had adopted a healthy lifestyle and even stopped eating non-veg and even stopped alcohol. The actor even lost a couple of pounds while maintaining a strict diet and workout routine.
Satish’s last rites and his funeral was conducted on Thursday evening. Family members and friends bid a tearful adieu to the actor at the Versova crematorium in Mumbai around 8.30 pm. A host of Bollywood stars including Anupam Kher who wept inconsolably, director Ashok Pandit and many others were spotted at the funeral ceremony.
