Actor producer Dia Mirza unveils Artist Sangeeta Babani’s ‘Quest for Knowledge’ Sculpture in Bandra

Dia Mirza recently unveiled Artist Sangeeta Babani’s ‘Quest for Knowledge’ Sculpture in Bandra.
The sculpture, conceived in association with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), showcasing a boy reading book while a dog is seen jumping up to him, promotes the idea of ‘education for all’. Present on the occasion were dignitaries of the likes of Vinayak Vispute (Assistant Commissioner – H West Ward, Mumbai), Asif Zakaria (Ex-Corporator – H West Ward, Mumbai) and entrepreneur Harsh Jagwani.

The idea behind Sangeeta Babani’s latest sculpture is to promote equal educational opportunities for one and all, without any discrimination on the basis of social status, caste, creed, gender, religion et al.
The artist shared, “Knowledge is infinite, it has a beginning but no end and it should not be denied to anyone. An investment in knowledge always gives the best returns. Our idea behind the sculpture is to drive home the force of knowledge and its power. Every child in the country should have an easy and equal access to knowledge which in turn will only help them grow as individuals, and will help country as whole, grow too.”

Dia is endowed with facile comliness and an intensely entrenched sense of purpose, Dia Mirza is a groundbreaker and a multi-hyphenate in her own right.
She has essayed memorable roles in films like “Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein”, “Parineeta”, and “Thappad”. Dia has had an whirlwind journey in the industry, marked by her beginnings as a beauty queen.

She has since come a long way to conglomerate herself as a household name. She is best recognised as the star who never faltered to speak out about causes close to her heart. She is also the United Nation’s Environment’s Goodwill Ambassador for India.

She was also crowned
Miss Asia Pacific International in 2000 and subsequently made her acting debut with Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein. However, before all this could happen to her, the star had already begun her career outside the industry. Mirza initially worked as a marketing professional for a multimedia firm in her hometown, Hyderabad, before switching to modeling and acting.
