After a wild 750 km chase and on ‘Operation AJ’ finally, the Mumbai Police succeeded in arresting the notorious Cricket bookie Anil Jaisinghani for bribe and extortion from Amruta Fadnavis wife of Dy.CM Devendra Fadnavis’s wife at Kalol in 55km northwest of Vadodara. Gujarat late on Sunday night

Accused Jaisinghani.was then brought to Mumbai and handed over to the Malabar Hill police. He will be produced in court on Tuesday 21 March.

On two occasions, the accused Jaisinghani had dodged the Police. As per Balsing Rajput, DCP cyber police, the accused was using multiple electronic devices,” said Balsing Rajput, DCP cyber police. The Ulhasnagar, Kalyan, resident accused is reported to be among the top cricket bookies in the state with 15 cases.

Earlier, Jaisinghani’s daughter Designer Aniksha, was arrested on Thursday in the basis of an FIR filed by Amruta Fadnavis, on February 20. Aniksha, now in police custody, will also be produced in the same court.

Jaisinghani’s location was traced to Bardoli in Gujarat on Friday evening. The next day, it showed in Surat. When cops reached, his location was near the airport. The long road chase began till they intercepted him near Kalol toll naka around Sunday midnight on the way to Godhra. He was travelling in a car with a Maharashtra registration.

DCP Cyber, Balsingh further stated that the accused wasn’t using a SIM card to communicate, but would made VoIP calls (over internet). He would use a dongle taken in different people’s names and every five to six days, he would change the dongle. The Police took a year studying his VoIP data’s IPDR after which they began their probe with it.
Two mobile phones and two dongles were recovered from him and another phone and a dongle from a relative, and also his driver’s phone too. Both the relative and driver are being questioned.
