It’s a remarkable achievement that just in a span of two months of its commencement, the Mumbai Metro lines 2A and 7 sees a rise in the ridership of almost 1.4 lakh per day.

As per the passenger trend Andheri West (D N Nagar) and Gundavali sees the most footfalls.

Meanwhile, Kandivali-Andheri (West) section has emerged as the most popular route.

Notably, reports, in the last 53 days, reveals that 1,06,470 passengers commuted from Kandivali to Andheri (West), and 99,140 passengers to Kandivali (West), Dahanukarwadi.

This projects the daily average ridership of 2,009 and 1,871 passengers, respectively.

The data shows that Andheri West (D N Nagar) on Metro 2A and Gundavali on Metro 7 saw higher footfalls in the daily average range of 14,000 to 15,000.

These two stations have an interchange with the Metro 1 line of Versova Andheri Ghatkopar. Andheri West is connected to D N Nagar metro station and Gundavali with the Western Express Highway (WEH).

Daily, an average of over 1.35 lakh passengers commute on Metro lines 2A and 7 corridors. In 53 days, 71,88,761 passengers on both metro corridors.

Apart 27,74,566 passengers commuted on the Red line on.an average of 52,350 commuters daily.

Both the metro lines were flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 19 and services for the public was thrown open on January 20.
