Malayalam music composer Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri recalls that actor Innocent’s dancing prowess wasn’t explored
Many may not be aware that besides an actor, Innocent was a dancer too. But, ironically, the Malayalam industry never deemed it necessary to explore this talent
Despite plans to confer the first Unnikrishnan Namboothiri Award to actor Innocent for his contributions to Malayalam cinema, it never turned a reality, owing to actor’s ill health.
Kaithapram, a part of the award committee, attributed that the panel initially planned to host the event at Payyannur. However, later decided to change the venue to Irinjalakuda or Kochi. But, the plan did not materialise and thus the actor couldn’t be honoured with the award and this pained him.
Hopefully, will posthumously confer the award to him concluded Kaithapram.
For the unversed, the veteran actor Innocent Versatile completed 50 years in Malayalam cinema which is a landmark.
