Ex – Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad extols PM Modi over his statesmanship
Ex-Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Tuesday extolled Prime Minister Narendra Modi, over his statesmanship for not reacting to any revenge regardless the former attacking him on issues like Article 370, Citizenship Amendment Act or hijab row.
Azad’s remark comes as a contrast with those of opposition leaders who accused the Modi government of misusing agencies like the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to silence its critics.
But this is not for the first time when Azad has heaped praises on the prime minister.
In 2021, the former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister in 2021 appreciated PM Modi for not hiding the fact that he hails from a village and sold tea.
Azad’s response had come after PM Modi praised him, calling the J&K leader a true friend’. “Power comes and goes, but only a few know how to digest it. Therefore, as a friend, PM respects Ghulam Nabi for the things he has done over the years.
Last year, Nabi had lauded the PM, over a wrong perception of him earlier. Nabi felt PM Modi is a crude man… that he does not have children, but he showed humanity. But he showed humanity. Nabi recalled that when Modi was the Gujarat CM he had called him up
But he was crying. He told his officials that he is unable to could speak. This Modi seems to have heard. I said my people wanted me
Ghulam Nabi Azad resigned from the Congress last year with an explosive resignation letter hitting out at Gandhis. In his letter, he had hit out at Rahul Gandhi calling him a ‘non-serious’ politician.
All this happened because the leadership in the past 8 years has tried to foist a non-serious individual at the helm of the party”, Azad had attributed explaining why the Congress ceded space to the BJP in the national level and regional parties in the state level.
