Salman expressed his opinion on why he feels Hindi films are not working and also hoped that his film ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ proves him right

With the exception of ‘Pathaan’, Hindi films last year have however struggled to make it to box-office success.

Ironically, some of the biggest stars have faied draw the cinegoers to the theatre. There were questions being raised over the content and debacle of the films despite boasting of big stars.

Reportedly, in the first quarter of 2023, it has been only ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ to have crossed
Rs 100 crore at the box office.

At the press conference for the Filmfare Awards 2023, Salman Khan who shared a cameo appearance in ‘Pathaan’ interacted with the media. When he was quizzed on the failure of Hindi films at the
Box-Office, he said he has been hearing this for a very long time and went on to say that when bad films are made how can they prove a success. Moreover bad content is also another reason for the failure.

He further went on to add that some producers assume they are making films on the lines of ‘Mughal-e-Azam’, ‘Sholay’, ‘Hum Aapke Hai Kaun, or ‘Dilwale’.

On the films not connecting with the audience, Salman articulated that today filmmakers have a different understanding of India. They feel the country begins and ends from Andheri to Colaba. The filmmakers that he has met and interacted, they are too cool. They make that kind of content. However, Hindustan is way different. It starts from the east of the railway stations.

Then he went on to mention about his film ‘Kisi a Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ and hopes it proves him right and that his words doesn’t bite him. Bhari nahi padhna chahiye. People shouldn’t question what kind of a film he has made.
‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ will have its theatrical release on April 21 hopes everyone likes it.

The Farhad Samji directorial ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Jaan’ also features Pooja Hegde, Venkatesh Daggubati, Jagapathi Babu, Shehnaaz Gill, and others.
