Today, 11 April 2023 marks the birth of Guru Tegh Bahadur. He is the Ninth Guru of Sikhism.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji on his Parkash Purab 2023.
Taking to his twitter handle PM Modi tweeted :
I bow to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji on his Parkash Purab. His unparalleled courage and commitment to values of truth as well as justice are very motivating.
Guru Tegh Bahadur Parkash Purab 2023 is celebrated to mark the birth of the Ninth Guru of Sikhism, Guru Tegh Bahadur and to remember his life and teachings.
Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji is the ninth Sikh Guru, born in Amritsar, to the sixth Guru Hargobind Ji and Mata Nanaki Ji.
He grew up to be a brave young man and displayed considerable courage in the battles against Mughals. In recognition to his bravery, his father gave him the title of “Tegh Bahadur”, meaning “Mighty of Sword”.
He is widely regarded as the saviour guru. Guru Tegh Bahadur is considered to be an honourable scholar and poet who greatly contributed to the Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the holy book of Sikhism.
Guru Tegh Bahadur is also widely regarded as the saviour guru who relentlessly fought for religious freedom.
