With the rise in ridership in Mumbai Metro 2A 7 ((Gundavali-Dahisar-Andheri), the Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMOCL) are adding 8 more services from 1 May and the frequency will now be 7.29 minutes instead of 8 minutes during rush hours.

As per MMOCL chairman SVR Srinivas, the services will now touch 253 from 245. The decision was taken due to increase in passenger load.

This 35 km long Phase 2 of the Mumbai Metro has boosted the connectivity from Western Mumbai and eased the traffic on New Link Road and between Dahisar East and DN Nagar.
Line 2A connects Dahisar to Andheri West DN Nagar and Line 7 connects Dahisar East to Andheri East. The lines were built with an estimated cost of around Rs 12,600 crore.

At present, the operational hours on Mumbai Metro Lines 2A and 7 (Andheri west-Dahisar-Gundavli) are till 10:30 pm. However, commuters have been demanding the metro authorities to extend the time at least till 12 pm.
