Noted playback singer Shaan invited criticisms for extending his Eid wishes donning a skull cap with his hands raised in a prayer to Allah. “Eid Mubarak to You and Your Family,” in his social media account. But, this didn’t go well with the Netizens.

No sooner the picture went viral on the social media, netizens
blitzkrieged his comments section and criticised him for attiring in a Muslim outfit notwithstanding being a Hindu.

However, the singer never took the comments lying low, instead gave a befitting reply.

One of the most loved playback singers in India, Shaan Mukherjee on Saturday desired to wish his fans on the occasion of Eid but it boomeranged him.

However, instead of wishes in return, Shaan’s comments section was flooded with angry and hateful comments by trolls who slammed the actor for wishing Eid Mubarak despite being Hindu.

Not one to stay mum, Shaan then responded to the trolls and mentioned how he was always taught to respect all religions equally.

However, the singer later clarified that the photo was from three years ago, from his music video titled ‘Karam Karde’. “Usme ye Look Tha .. toh socha it goes with the occasion .. bas itni si baat,” he wrote.

He went on to say that he was shocked how netizens reacted to it. “He is a Hindu Brahmin. Since childhood, he was taught to celebrate all festivals and respect every religion. This is what he believed in and this is what every Indian should believe in too. Baaki aapki soch aapko Mubarak,” the singer wrote in Hindi.

Shaan is not the only celeb to wish fans on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Among the others who extended their Eid wishes to the citizens of the country were Amitabh Bachchan, Swara Bhasker, Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar, Shahid Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, and others.

Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramzan in Islam.
