Amitabh Bachchan gets back his blue tick on Twitter
Twitter has finally removed the Blue Tick from Verified accounts. Only those who are paying for Twitter Blue are now allowed to keep a Blue Tick. While many have expressed their disappointment on the platform saying they would not give money to Twitter to regain the blue verification badge, some people who have paid the micro-blogging too haven’t got it.
One of them is actor Amitabh Bachchan and on Friday he made a public appeal, although rather humorous, and asked Twitter to immediately give him his Tick back.
It seems that the platform takes some time before adding a blue verification mark to any account even if the person pays around $8 fee to the company.
This is something that happened to Amitabh Bachchan and the actor took a dig at Twitter with a tweet.
The actor has demanded Twitter to return his verification badge as he has paid for the Blue subscription, which not only brings back the blue check mark but also gives access to several exclusive features. He asked the company what else can be done to get back the check mark. He sarcastically wrote on Twitter he is begging with folded hands to receive his Blue Tick back, and that if even this wasn’t enough, he would fall down to his knees and touch the feet of “Twitter”
The actor also explained the importance of the Blue Tick to him. For the badge on Twitter will make it easier for people to know who the real Amitabh Bachchan is and whether they are following the right person on the platform.
Infact the removal of the blue badge doesnt surprise considering Twitter’s owner Elon Musk had recently announced that all the accounts will lose the Blue Tick starting April 20. Ju the subscription costs Rs 650.
Amitabh Bachchan is not the only star who lost his badge. Several other popular personalities like Vir Das, Nargis Fakri, Prakash Raj, Shah Rukh Khan, and Ravi Kishan also lost their blue tick verification.
And of course, the new trick that Twitter has pulled on users is not limited to India. It is global. Even global accounts like Bill Gates, Selena Gomez and thousands of others have lost their Blue Tick.
