Things are forseeing a transformation in the Maharashtra Government.

It is learnt that the IAS 1987 aggregate Manoj Saunik has been appointed as Maharashtra Chief Secretary. He replaces Manukumar Srivastava who is due to retire on April 30, 2023. Manoj Saunik and his wife Sujata Saunik (IAS: 1987: MH) both are currently additional chief secretaries.

While Manoj leads the departments of finance and public works whereas Sujata heads the general administration department (administrative reforms).

After Sujata Saunik, Ashwani Kumar (IAS: 1987: MH) is the senior–most bureaucrat after Manoj. Both Ashwani Kumar and Manoj retire on December 31, 2023, and Sujata retires on June 30, 2025. Another senior bureaucrat, Ashish Kumar Singh (IAS: 1988: MH), retires on December 31, 2023.
