In a bizzare incident 8 associations of the cine dancers have been booked over Rs.1 crore cheating case.

Acting on a complaint, the
Mumbai Police has registered an FIR against the president of the Cine Dancers’ Association (CDA) and seven other office-bearers on the charge of illegally collecting money amounting to more than
Rs 1 crore from aspiring members.

Dancers registered with CDA reportedly are hired as background dancers for songs in Bollywood movies, serials, and live performances.
As per complaint, the accused collected money to the tune of Rs 1 crore-Rs 1.5 crore under the pretext of awarding CDA membership regardless of not having the necessary permission to collect money from the court.

The complainant alleged that the CDA president and others invested money in the bank accounts of their family members. As per the FIR, they prepared fake invoices to release the amount but never gave the account of the money spent

Some members of CDA also invested money in the bank accounts of their wives who did not have any connection with the association, according to the police official quoting the criminal offence been filed.

Why don’t they disclose the names of all the office bearers, either they are being protected or police not sure of the crime committed asked some of the members.
