Interestingly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has collaborated with Grammy Award-winning Indian-American singer Falguni for special song to promote the benefits of millets and their potential to alleviate world hunger.
The ‘Abundance in Millets’ song rendered by Falguni and her husband and singer Gaurav Shah, was released today, Friday,June 16 across streaming platforms.
As per Falguni, the idea to pen a song on millets came to her when she met PM Narendra Modi in New Delhi last year following her Grammy win.
Notably, the year 2023 has been designated as the ‘International Year of Millets’ following a proposal for it brought forward by India and endorsed by Members of the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Governing Bodies, as well as by the 75th Session of the UN General Assembly.
