Time and again, Hema Malini, has spoken on not wanting to disturb Dharmendra’s ‘other family’, and hence stays away. However, in her biography Hema Malini: Beyond The Dream Girl, authored by Ram Kamal Mukherjee, the actor spoke on meeting her mother-in-law Satwant Kaur.
She shared how she came to meet Hema when she conceived her first baby, actor Esha Deol. Giving details on the meeting, Hema shared that Satwant came to see her without informing anyone in the family.
Hema wrote, Dharamji’s mother Satwant Kaur was equally warm and kind-hearted. She remembers how she came to meet her once at a dubbing studio in Juhu after she had conceived Esha. Hema hadn’t informed anyone in the house. She touched her feet, and she hugged him and said, “Beta, khush raho hamesha (Be happy always).” she was happy that they were happy with him.
