BCCI to launch nationwide talent hunt
Ahead of the ICC World Cup kicking-off on October 5, with India, the hosts, under immense pressure to end their ten-year-long trophy drought, the management of BCCI has identified a pool of players who would be a part of the World Cup.
Meanwhile, India, ranked 3rd in the ODI rankings, lack in a few departments compared to other teams, and not having genuine seam bowlers is one of them.
The Men in Blue have struggled to find a genuine fast bowler, which India’s counterpart Pakistan have successfully done over the years.
In the latest event, BCCI has come up with a masterstroke to uplift the standards of Indian cricket and have decided to launch a nationwide talent hunt to discover young fast bowlers for the future.
According to BCCI source, bowlers between 18-23 can partake in the talent hunt, where NCA coaches would supervise the event. There is a need to add bench strengthen in the bowling departments to win Tests.
