Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Tejas’ embroiled in controversy over non-payment to actor
While Kangana Ranaut awaits the release of her upcoming film ‘Tejas’, ironically, However, the makers of the film have landed themselves in a cobweb.
However, Mayank Madhur, who claims to have worked in the film, alleges of pursuing legal recourse against the producers for not only editing his role but also for non-payment.
For the unversed, the film centres around the journey of Air Force pilot Tejas Gill. The the film is scheduled for theatrical release in October, probably clashing at the box office with Tiger Shroff’s ‘Ganapath’.
According to Mayank, the director, Sarvesh Mewara, had initially claimed that his role would be of 15-minutes, but the length of his role gradually kept getting shorter. Then he was told to come to shoot for a 1 or 2-minute appearance. He made it clear that he is not interested.
He alleged that notwithstanding Kangana’s assurance to credit him as an associate producer in ‘Tiku Weds Sheru’, his name was only mentioned in the special thanks section. Mayank further mentioned that Sarvesh had deceived him, and Kangana had ensured to clear his dues prior to release. But, she is also putting the responsibility on the film’s producers.
He added that hence he Hence, determined to go to the court, nevertheless , he will not reveal right now when he plans to go to the court, and how exactly he will stop the film’s release. He wants to get the makers arrested. He has taken guidance from the former chief justice of India to understand how he can take the matter further. He has also spoken to the chief ministers, PMO, home ministry etc to ensure that arrest warrants can be issued immediately from various states. Everything will be done as per the legalities.
Amidst a media interaction earlier this week, Mayank had mentioned how he played a pivotal role in facilitating shooting permissions for ‘Dhaakad’, ‘Tejas’, ‘Tiku Weds Sheru’, and ‘Emergency’.
On the work front, Kangana has her directorial project, ‘Emergency’, in the lineup. The film, which depicts her portrayal of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, is set to hit theatres on November 24.
