Nashik Party workers resort to vandalism
News comes to light that MNS Chief Raj Thackeray was intercepted at the Sinnar Poll Plaza for almost 1/ hour.
This didn’t go down well with the MNS Party workers who resorted to vandalism of the toll plaza situated on Samruddhi Expressway in Maharashtra’s Nashik.
Reportedly,Thackeray’s convoy, among other MNS functionaries, were returning from Ahmednagar to Sinnar via Samruddhi Expressway on Saturday evening, when they were stopped by toll plaza staff members. They were also asked to present identity cards, triggering his party workers and subordinates with anger.
Known for their ‘ugly’ attitude, Members of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) allegedly ransacked the Sinnar toll plaza on the Samruddhi expressway on Sunday morning. They were apparently upset because the party’s student wing leader Amit Thackeray was made to wait at the toll plaza on Saturday night. The Wavi police are in the process of registering an FIR against the unidentified vandals.
Around 10.15pm, a group of MNS activists came to the toll plaza demanding an apology. The toll booth employees apologised and the activists left. However, at 2.09am on Sunday, 15 alleged MNS workers, armed with sticks, came and broke the window panes of the booths shouting MNS slogans. They too left — it all took barely three minutes, said Umap.
