US Embassy in India shifts customer service center to new platform

News comes to the fore from the US embassy in India to the visa applicants that its customer service center is moving to a new platform.

Hence, the Customer calls and appointment booking will remain suspended from July 26-28 and fee payment services from July 25-28. The services will resume on July 29.

As per tweet on Monday from US Embassy in India, all services, however, will resume on July 29.

In the interim, United States Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti, recently asserted that the wait time for first-time tourist visa interviews has been reduced by more than 50 per cent, adding that goal for 2023 will process at least one million visas.

Amid addressing the audience at IIT Delhi, Garcetti elaborated that they are already doing this and are currently processing more visas, faster, than the US Mission in India ever has before. They have set a goal for themselves to process at least a million visas in 2023, and are already more than halfway towards reaching that goal.

He added that their investments have brought real results, and they have seen wait times for first-time tourist visa interviews fall by more than 50 per cent.

To remove barriers that hinder qualified travellers from experiencing the United States, Garcetti emphasized the need to expand operations.

According to the US Ambassador they will continue to invest in expanding the visa operations and broadening the team.

The Envoy further added that they will find innovative solutions to streamline the visa process, such as reduction in the need for in-person interviews, which permits consular teams around the world to assist in processing visas for the growing number of Indian travellers.

Kicking-off from July 29, applicants can reach the Embassy’s customer service center at the new email address, support-india@usvisascheduling.com. For more information, applicants can visit the USTravelDocs website.
