Actor Filmmaker Farhan Akhtar announces “Don3”

Don emerges as one amongst the most popular franchises in the Hindi film industry.

Fans have been much anxiously waiting for the third installment since ages and have regularly asked for updates on the film.

Earlier, there were reports that Shah Rukh Khan had decided to exit the Don films as he wanted to do projects with wider reach in the commercial space.

This however led to Farhan Akhtar rebooting the franchise with a star from the younger generation. Ranveer Singh reportedly has been finalized to play the new Don. Now, Farhan has officially announced that Don 3 is in the works.

Taking to his Instagram on the morning of August 8 he shared a video in which the logo of ‘3’ can be seen. It stands for the third part. The theme music of the franchise can also be heard playing in the background. The video had the tagline, “A new era begins.

Although, the casting of the film has not been announced, it was already disclosed that actor Ranveer Singh has been cast in the lead. As of now, he is reeling in the success of his latest release Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and is now coming to impress his fans again in a new avatar. He has already shot an announcement video.

Fans are overwhelmed as their wait has finally ended. They immediately flocked to the comments section under Farhan’s post and expressed their excitement for the film. They also demanded to see Ranveer’s first look from the film.

The teaser of the film is expected to be released sometime this week in which Ranveer Singh will be officially introduced as the new Don.
He will be the third actor to play this role after Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan.

As per sources, the teaser will be attached to the prints of Gadar 2 which arrives in cinemas on August 11.
