Relief for Nawab Malik former Maha Minister-NCP Leader
SC grants bail on medical grounds for 2 months
In a new development, the Supreme Court has granted interim bail to former Maharashtra Minister NCP Leader Nawab Malik for two months on medical grounds.
This comes after the Bombay High Court denied bail to him
Notwithstanding his deteriorating health condition.
Reportedly, he has been ailing for some time.
With Malik’s health in deteriorating stage since few months, his legal team has been constantly making a plea to the Supreme Court to give him relief.
In February 2022, the Enforcement Directorate had arrested the NCP Leader in a money laundering case linked to fugitive terrorist Dawood Ibrahim.
Malik hit the headlines for attacking Narcotics Control Bureau’s (NCB) former zonal director Sameer Wankhede, accusing him of several service-related wrongdoings after the anti-drugs officer led a raid on a cruise ship off Mumbai’s coast in October 2021.
Around that time Malik’s son-in-law Sameer Khan was arrested in a drugs case by the NCB’s Mumbai unit led by Wankhede.
With Malik’s health in deteriorating stage since few months, his legal team has been constantly making a plea to the Supreme Court to give him relief.
