vociferating makers of
‘Made In Heaven 2 as Plagiarists
The producers of ‘Made In Heaven 2’ got embroiled in controversy post its release for alleged plagiarism.
Just when celebrity fashion designer Tarun Tahiliani hit out at the makers of the project for the use of his designs and not giving him due credit, Yashica Dutt, author of ‘Coming Out As Dalit’ too vociferated the makers for allegedly using her work from her narrative in one of the episodes of the show sans her permission. In a lenghty post, Yashica voiced her disheartment.
On the other hand, Sumit Baudh a law scholar acused Yashica for plagiarism. Isn’t it an irony?
Taking to his X (twitte) the law scholar vociferated Yashica Dutt for copying his work without his permission. He shared Dutt’s news article and wrote, “Proprietary claims to ideas and stories are also characteristic of a system that rewards seemingly individual effort over interdependent ways in which ideas are conceived, shaped, formed, advanced, received, amplified, and encashed.
He further in another tweet wrote, ”Amusing to note the obvious hypocrisy of her failure to credit his article of 2007 in her book of 2019.
For the unversed, earlier, Yashica in her Instagram post claimed that the 5th episode ‘The Heart Skipped A Beat’ of ‘Made In Heaven 2’, featuring Radhika Apte bears a stark resemblance to her life. Radhka played Dalit author Pallavi Menke. The episode follows a Dalit Buddhism marriage that heaped lots of appreciation from all across the nation.
Yashica’s claim has made makers Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti and director Neeraj Ghaywan negate it as they too released a statement.
Over the recent plagiarism claim, Yashica is yet to comment.
