Former J&K CM Mehbooba Mufti reacts over her daughter’s alleged role in a film shot by her brother.
Taking to her social media account, the Former J&K chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday clarified on a social media platform that Mufti never acted in the Omkara movie. It is not a new claim on Mufti’s daughter and is one of many claims on her two daughters floating on social media. She feels proud on the contrary that her brother Tassaduq shot Omkara but nothing is more absurd than the lie that her elder daughter acted in it.
Mehbooba Mufti posted on Twitter, now called X, slamming social media user Imtiaz Mahmood calling him a ‘two rupee troll’.
Mehbooba Mufti responded to a tweet apparently spreading fake news about her daughters.
Reportedly, the original post attacked Mufti for the ‘non-Islamic’ life that her daughters apparently live even as she ‘wants all Kashmiri girls to live in burqa’.
Alongside her two photographs, the post read:
“These are the 2 daughters of Mehbooba Mufti. Irtika and Iltiza Mufti. One became IFD via backdoor and now working in London. 2nd acts in Bollywood, she was seen in Omkara movie. Both lives normal Non Islamic Life but Mehbooba Mufti wants all Kashmiri Girls to live in Burqa.
“Two rupee trolls ply patent lies dictated to them. Iltija her younger daughter supposed to be working as an ‘IFS’ officer in London has been in Kashmir since 2015. As far as the other fake claim is concerned, she feels proud that her brother Tasuq shot Omkara but nothing is more absurd than the lie that her elder daughter acted in it.
35-year-old Iltija Mufti emerged a prominent name in J&K politics when Mehbooba Mufti got detained in 2019 before the scrap of Article 370. The first woman chief minister of J&K, Mehbooba Mufti was released after over 14 months. Iltija was handling her mother’s social media accounts.
Iltija is again headlines over her legal battle for her passport. She was issued a UAE-specific passport as she wanted to pursue higher studies in the UAE. The UAE-specific passport had validity from April 5,2023 to April 4, 2025. Iltija appealed for a regular passport which she was granted two days ago.
Irtiqa Javid is Mehbooba’s other daughter who received training as a screenwriter. Mehbooba’s brother Tassaduq Hussain Mufti worked as a cinematographer in Omkara and Kaminey. He later became tourism minister of the erstwhile J&K between 2017-2018.
