Anand Mahindra gifts electric car to young chess prodigy, R Praggnanandhaa’s parents
Acknowledged for his rare gestures at opportune occasions, Anand Mahindra, Chairman,Mahindra Group has gifted an electric car to the parents of the young chess prodigy, R Praggnanandhaa.
Notedly, the gift comes in recognition of the young prodigy’s recent triumph over Magnus Carlsen, the reigning world chess champion. Praggnanandhaa’s win has been lauded as a significant achievement and a landmark in the world of chess, marking him as a rising star in the sport.
It all started when numerous users on X (formerly Twitter) urged Anand Mahindra to gift Thar to Praggnanandhaa.
The industrialist responded to the user Krishlay and wrote, “Appreciate your sentiment, Krishlay, and many, like you, have been urging him to gift a Thar to Praggnanandhaa, but
he has another idea.
He would like to encourage parents to introduce their children to chess and support them as they pursue this cerebral game (despite the surge in popularity of video games!) It’s an investment in a better future for our planet, just like EVs. And so, he thinks to gift an XUV4OO EV to Praggnanandhaa’s parents Shrimati Nagalakshmi, and
Shri Rameshbabu, who deserve gratitude for nurturing their son’s passion and for giving him their untiring support.
