In the midst of a special screening of ‘Khalnayak’ and the extravagant event to celebrate the 30 glorious years of ‘Khalnayak’, when the veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai joked of Sanjay Dutt’s rumoured girl friend Madhuri Dixit, the actor got shell-shocked.

The 1993 Subhash Ghai directorial featured Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, and Jackie Shroff. The block-buster saw its re-release today, September 5.

The special screening held in Mumbai, was also saw the presence of “Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai” singers Alka Yagnik and Ila Arun.

Sanjay Dutt looked dapper in a blue kurta that he teamed up with a pajama. He layered the look with a shawl and a pair of black sunglasses. On the other hand, Jackie Shroff opted for a classic black shirt and denim. The entire Khalnayak team also cut a cake together.

Over his imteraction with the media Subhash Ghai joked about Dutt’s rumoured affair with Dixit and reportedly said, “Yeh bol “Yeh bolta tha, yeh picture bohot door tak jaayegi par dekht ..dekhta tha Madhuri ki taraf.” This left Dutt ‘shocked’ who took it light-heartedly amidst peels of laughter.

Subhash Ghai also expressed his feelings on the occasion and shared, “Today is a very very momentous for the cast and crew of the film and also for Mukta Arts Production House Team. For all three Nayak (Jackie Shroff), Khalnayak (Sanjay Dutt), and the entire team. It is indeed a momentous day that we are celebrating 30 years of ‘Khalnayak’ today. We feel as good as we used to attend premieres 30 years back. We need your blessings to move further, the director concluded.

Madhuri also through a video congratulated Mukta Arts, Subhash ji, and the entire team of ‘Khalnayak’ on completing thirty years. We had a great time filming the movie. The film is still fresh in people’s minds and it gives a feeling as if the film was released today.
Thank you for all the love you have given to ‘Khalnayak’ and hope you enjoy watching it again in theatres.

Undoubtedly, in the 90’s Khalnayak was the biggest film and the action crime drama was produced by Ghai under Mukta Arts Limited. Sanjay Dutt essayed the role of villain Balaram Prasad, while Jackie Shroff played police officer Ram, and Madhuri Dixit was an undercover cop Ganga in the film.
