Dev Anand’s Iconic Juhu Iris Park bungalow sold for Rs.400 cr; to be replaced with 22 Floors Tower
News comes to the fore that the Evergreen actor-turned filmmaker Dev Anand’s Juhu bungalow has been sold to a real estate company for
Rs.400 cr. The actor had spent 40 years of his life in the bungalow along with his wife Kalpana Kartik, children Suniel Anand and Devina Anand.
As per insider living close to Anand’s home, reveals that, “Actors Madhuri Dixit Nene and Dimple Kapadia also once lived in the apartments around the bungalow.
When Dev Anand decided to build a home in Juhu, it was a locality unknown to many.
In fact, he had in earlier interviews had mentioned that he went in for the place because he fell in love with its wilderness. He built his Juhu house 1950. Juhu was a small village then and there was total wilderness. Dev liked it because be was a loner.
While his son Suniel lives is US his daughter Devina lives in Ooty along with mother Kalpana Kartik. There is no one in Mumbai to take care of the property and hence they have taken the decision to sell off the bungalow. In fact, they had also sold some property in Panvel, Maharashtra for the same reason.
As of now Juhu has emerged very crowded and especially on Sundays it sees a too many people, It’s not the same beach any longer. The Iris Park doesn’t have a park anymore, but there is a school and four bungalows bang opposite the place.
Another source reveals that when Dev Anand’s Anand studio was sold 10 years back, the money that they got from it was used to buy three apartments-
A source also informs that one was given to Suniel, another to Devina and third to his wife Kalpana. So for the Juhu property also, everyone will get the share.
