Filmmaker Karan Johar reveals that after offering ‘Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gum’ to Amitabh Bachchan, he returned for a meet with Jaya Bachchan

The filmmaker further revealed that he offered Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham to each central stars, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Jaya Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan on the same day.
The Filmmaker also recalled the atypical manner in which he celebrated the success of his debut film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and the impact it left on his father Yash Johar to his ambitious idea for his follow up, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
Karan further revealed that he jetted-off to London for some time immediately subsequent to the release of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, because he’d received threats from the underworld and his mother felt it would be best if they stayed under the radar for some time.
Tbey watched Kuch Kuch Hota in London with the crowded audience, and were in for a pleasant surprise to watch audiences weeping throughout the film. He also received a call from producer Aditya Chopra, who told Karan that he could buy his dream house because the film was a massive hit. Encouraged by the success, Karan told his father what he wanted to do next.
The rest is history for Karan, the cast and crew of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, his parents Yash and Hiroo Johar and his banner Dharma Productions.
The movie in the end turned out to be a colossal hit at the box-office and made the flag fly high at the production house.
