Revisiting RK Studio popular for its Ganeshotsav celebrations
RK Studios founded in 1948 was named after the veteran actor-filmmaker Raj Kapoor.
The studio has a legacy that outdistance generations. With its headquarters at Chembur, Mumbai, the studio was establised a year after India gained independence.
It wasn’t the only the place where dreams were woven, but was also the hub of the film industry and it was here that Holi and Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations were immensely popular.
Everything kicked-off at a time when Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Rajiv Kapoor and sister Rima Jain were still kids.
The tradition was carried forward by the next generation, including actors Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Karisma celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi in RK Studios.
R.K.Studios wasn’t just popular for celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi, but also Holi, festival of colors Holi and festival flights Holi and Diwali, festival of lights.
Although there were many big Ganpati Pandals in Chembur, but RK Studios Ganpati celebrations was different.
Had Raj Kapoor been alive, the celebrations would have continued.
