Billionaire diamond trader Vallabhbhai Lakhani shifts Mumbai bizness office to Surat Diamond Bourse

News comes to light that Billionaire diamond trader Vallabhbhai Lakhani plans to shift his business office to Surat Diamond Bourse.

This announcement by the Billionaire Diamond Trader has come as a big jolt to Mumbai’s diamond trade as prominent merchants are looking to shift base to Gujarat’s Surat, which is prepping for the opening of the Surat Diamond Bourse, the world’s largest office building – in December.

With the bourse, built at a cost of Rs 3,400 crore sans government support, Surat aims to replace Mumbai as the country’s diamond trading hub.

Notedý, the diamond trader the Director of Kiran Gems, has set the ball rolling by moving his
Rs 17,000-crore business to Surat, and developing a mini-township for his employees.
