Meet Mayanti Langer Journalist and first woman ODI World Cup 2023 commentator
Cricket is not just on cricketers and on-field performances.
Now, the media part of the game has been one of the reasons for its popularity of the game.
No doubt, the presenters and or commentators play an important role and attract the viewers to watch the channel or series for a long time.
But what makes it more interesting is when the presenter and or anchor is a glamorous woman.
One such glamourous cricket commentator is Mayanti Langer, married to Indian all-rounder Stuart Binny whom she met during the Indian Cricket League (ICL) tournament and got married to him in 2012. Their first child was born in September 2020.
She is one of the most recognisable faces in Indian sports broadcasting.
She is also the daughter-in-law of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Roger and the first woman ODI World Cup 2023 commentator.
Mayanti Langer was born to Indian army officer Lieutenant General Sanjiv Langer and Preminda Langer on February 8, 1985. She pursued B.A. (Hons) from Delhi’s Hindu College.
Mayanti began her sports broadcasting career with ESPN and works with STAR India and Star Sports network and is an
associate producer for various sports events.
With her wide knowledge of cricket, she has made quite a name for herself and over the years has hosted a plethora of events, including the 2010 Commonwealth Games, the 2011 Cricket World Cup, the 2014 Indian Super League, and the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup.
Apart from cricket, Mayanti also has a keen interest in football making her the first Indian female sports anchor to host FIFA World Cup 2010.
