Team India were at their very best on Sunday in the match against World Champs South Africa at the Eden Gardens Kolkata. The victory won plaudits for the Team India not only from cricket lovers in India but the world at large.
The Day was special in that Virat Kohli was celebrating his birthday. The jam-packed Stadium were in an exhuberant mood and all eyes were on Virat Kohli. He scored his 49th century and broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record.

All said it was one man who was much elated at the historic win and it was none other than Sourav Ganguly. It was his desire for Virat Kohli’s 49th ODI ton to be scored at Eden Gardens and it happened.

Expressing his desire, Ganguly shared his hopes for Pakistan’s qualification.
He hopes Pakistan makes it to the semi-finals in Kolkata because an India versus Pakistan semi-final is the biggest match you can have.
Ganguly also praised Virat Kohli his 49th ODI ton on his birthday.
He went on to add that Virat Kohli is truly one of the cricket greats and it would be fantastic to see him achieve his 49th ODI century at Eden Gardens, especially considering he’s come close to reaching this milestone a few times in the tournament.
