Filmmaker-Actor Gautham Menon opens up on pan-Indian films
Filmmaker-actor Gautham Menon is on a mission to promote his inordinately delayed film Dhruva Natchathiram, expected for a theatrical release on November 24.
The director is still coming out of many financial issues prior to the release of the movie, and at the same time is also busy promoting it with multiple interviews. In one such interview the director shared his take on pan-Indian films.
While talking on how it is increasingly harder for him to convince heroes with his scripts, Gautham said even Silambarasan wants to do something ‘big’ and pan-Indian these days.
However, Gautham opined that one cannot decide such a film and make it and only the movie decides whether it is for everyone. On Jailer and Jawan movies designed as pan-Indian films, Gautham affirmed that unless you have eight to ten characters and cast that many actors from across the country…that’s when it becomes pan-Indian.
Meanwhile, Gautham Menon thinks Dhruva Natchathiram is also a pan-Indian film as it is done in a mega-level.
The movie is releasing in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu. About the film not releasing in Kannada and Malayalam, Gautham said that Tamil films perform well in Kerala and Bengaluru as they are.
