Former Cricketer Irfan Pathan takes a dig at Hardik Pandya for leaving Gujarat Titans
Even as news went viral on social media that Hardik Pandya has left Gujarat Titans to join .
Mumbai Indians, former cricketer Irfan Pathan reacted strongly and claimed that so long as Rohit Sharma is with Mumbai Indians, there is no chance whatsoever for the all-rounder Hardik Pandya to become Mumbai Indians.
The deal was finalized after the deadline to release and retain the players was over on November 26.
Notably, Rohit Sharma is a giant at Mumbai Indians, leading them to five IPL titles and will remain their captain till he is active, and there is no chance for Hardik to lead the Mumbai-based franchise.
Irfan further added that Mumbai Indians have many all-rounders, and Hardik is not returning to strengthen that spot. Mumbai Indians are thinking on.the future and wants a player who can take up the captain’s armband once Rohit retires from the tournament.
Hardik was GT’s captain for two years, winning the league in 2022 and making it to the final in 2023.
On the other hand, he joined Mumbai for INR 10 lakh in 2015 and was a part of four title-winning campaigns.
The BCCI has approved the trade and will make the news public on November 27.
However Kris Srikkanth says that return of Hardik Pandya is not the end of Rohit Sharma at Mumbai Indians.
Akash Chopra questions, If Hardik Pandya plans to join Mumbai Indians, would Rohit Sharma go to Gujarat Titans?” Pandya is likely to play for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024.
