In a media interaction, in the midst of recently concluded Indian Television Academy (ITA) Awards, Sumona opened up on going “blank” when she had to deliver a thank-you speech on the stage while accepting an award in the Best Actor Female Comedy category for The Kapil Sharma Show. Joy knew no bounds for her on being honoured for her performance at the comedy show.
Taking to social media, she expressed her gratitude for the honour done to her in recognition towards her contribution to The Kapil Sharma Show.
Sharing pictures of herself gazing at the award trophy, she wrote, “I WON AN AWARD LAST NIGHT. Best Actor Female Comedy (JURY) for the The Kapil Sharma Show..My first win, my first ever.
The actress also shared on the jolt of happiness on receiving the award and stated that it wasn’t an anticipated win.
She wrote, “say whatever we’re all suckers for accolades & recognition. When you hear your name & your heart skips a beat & then it starts racing while walking up to the stage & then you receive the award & then- boom and blank. She thinks for a whole of 5-7 seconds there was pin drop silent at the venue because her to speech was expected and she shared a quick moment admiring the award & feeling the “feeling”. Oh i did speak after 5 secs, lol.”
She once again thanked
The Kapil Sharma Show, the entire cast & crew and went on to add that It takes an army of people who have worked very hard over the last 10 years to make this show & it’s characters what it is today.
Thank you for all the love & adulation that received from all over the world, across all age groups. She feels grateful for it all. This is just the beginning, first of many to come. What is meant to be, will always find a way to you. Thank you Universe she concluded.
Sumona started her career as a child actor in Aamir Khan and Manisha Koirala’s Mann.
She then went on to act in Balaji Telefilms’ Bade Achhe Lagte Hain but found popularity for her comedy gigs with Kapil Sharma in The Kapil Sharma Show.
