The state has registered one JN.1 case and will send samples for genome sequencing. In here are currently 45 Covid patients in the state.

He added the task force of experts be set up by the health department.
Meanwhile, additional municipal commissioner Sudhakar Shinde said that although the Covid situation in the city isn’t worrisome, the BMC administration is in a state of readiness for any upsurge in Covid cases.

As per BMC executive health officer the state has so far reistered only one JN.1 case while most of the cases in the country have been detected in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. “We will send samples to NIV in Pune for genome sequencing,.
As there are very few cases in Mumbai in the last three months, the BMC hasn’t been able to conduct sequencing at its own Kasturba Hospital facility.
There are 45 Covid patients in the patients, including 27 in Mumbai, eight in Pune and Thane and one each in Kolhapur and Raigad.
The CM also said that social media as well as mass media should ensure wrong news is not publicized as it could cause panic among people.
