Jeetendra ruled Bollywood for 3 decades, created record
Jeetendra ruled Bollywood for 3 decades, created record which Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are yet to break.
His vigorous dancing in the films won him the nickname ‘Jumping Jack of Bollywood’. He is also recognised as the ‘Remake King’ of Bollywood.
As of today, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn are called remake kings but there was also a time when this tag was given to Jeetendra.
In the 80s, Jeetendra dominated the Hindi Cinema. This was the period when he was counted among the big actors of the film industry.
Even though he has distanced himself from films at this age now, he ruled the industry amidst this time. A special kind of record is also registered in his name which no one has been able to break till now.
From the 60s to the 90s, Jeetendra made everyone his fan with his acting talent.
He dominated the industry not only with his acting but also his dancing and dressing style. Jeetendra is the only actor in the industry who has worked in 80 remake films in his entire career.
In his acting career, Jeetendra has given 121 hit films.
His pairing with Sridevi, Reena Roy, Neetu Singh, Hema Malini, and every other actress of that era was much liked. J
The veteran actor has worked with almost every actress in his career. He got his first major breaks with V. Shantaram’s ‘Geet Gaya Patharon Ne’ and ‘Boond Jo Ban Gayee Moti’. However, it was film ‘Farz’ that served as his stepping stone to success.
The actor is considered an evergreen actor of Hindi cinema. Due to his dancing style and dressing sense, he created a special identity among the audience. But the actor has struggled a lot to reach this special level of success. His 1982 film ‘Deedar-e-Yaar’ proved to be a flop at the box office. After this film, he suffered a loss of Rs 2.5 crores.
After this, he kept pinning hopes for a hit for a long time.
It was his film ‘Himmatwala’ with Sridevi that gave new heights to his career, after which Jeetendra never looked back.
Jeetendra has played various characters in his acting career, which were liked a lot by the people. But till now, no one has been able to break his record of doing remake films.
In his acting career, he has worked in remakes of 75 South films, apart from this 5 such films were remakes of Hollywood. The actor has worked in more than 200 films in his acting career. Most of his films proved to be hits at the box office.
Jeetendra himself had once said in an interview that a Telugu filmmaker had made his career. Even in Hindi films, he did not have an easy chance to prove his talent.
After putting in a lot of struggle, he got a different identity in the world of acting.
In his career, he won the hearts of people with his skills by working in many blockbuster films.
Today, even at this stage of age, people remember his work which is all a result of sheer hard work.
