Amid India-Maldives row, Israel starts desalination program in Lakshadweep to boost tourism
On January 8, the Israeli embassy in India pitched for promoting tourism in Lakshadweep.
This comes amid a diplomatic row between India and the Maldives over disparaging remarks made by Maldivian Ministers following PM Modi’s visit to the islands.
Israel Embassy wrote that last year they were in Lakshadweep upon the request made by the federal government to initiate the desalination program.
Israel is ready to commence working on this project tomorrow. For those who are yet to witness the pristine and majestic underwater beauty of lakshadweep islands.
