Mumbaikars brace unseasonal rain on Monday night
Mumbaikars in western suburbs including Andheri, Bandra Kurla Complex, Bandra and Goregaon Malad Borivali experienced moderate to heavy spell of unseasonal rain on Tuesday night.
As per the India Meteorology Department (IMD), the rainfall is caused due to a development of low pressure in the Arabian Sea.
Notedly, since Tuesday afternoon, the weather had been cloudy.
According to Sunil Kamble, head of IMD, Mumbai the rains started to pick up from late evening and this caused due to a trough formed in the Arabian Sea and extending amidst Maharashtra and Gujarat.
It is learnt that rainfall may occur in Konkan districts like Raigad, Ratnagiri and from Wednesday which will result in a dip in temperature as well.
Anticipating an unusual cycle of climate, the IMD had issued a warning of light to moderate rains for districts in Marathwada and western Maharashtra.
