Actress BJP MP Hema Malini visited the residence of veteran veteran actress Vyajanthimala as she gets honoured with Padma Vibhushan for her contribution to Indian Cinema.
She calls her a role model.

She shared photos with her and expressed immense joy. Hema wrote that it was the most memorable day of her life meeting her role model, the icon Vyjayanthimala along with her lovely family at her Chennai residence yesterday.

She is so full of life, still so full of dance in her. She talks dance, lives dance and has a glow and aura around her. Hema was in as much awe as she was many years ago! She had a nostalgic discussion over her stint in films and her experiences in the industry. One has to learn a lot from Vyjayantimala. It was a great moment for her to have been given so much love by this lovely lady, beautiful both inside and out.

Notably, the Padma awards are considered as one of the highest civilian honours of the country.

Others honoured with the Padma awards were
Chiranjeevi, M Venkaiah Naidu with a Padma Vibhushan award. Meanwhile, Mithun Chakraborty and Usha Uthup have been honoured with a Padma Bhushan. The Padma Awards are among the highest civilian awards in India.

Vyajanthimala is credited as one of the best dance exponent of various forms that Indian cinema ever saw. She continues to remain an inspiration for many for years to come and the actress was largely known for her expressions which nobody could ever match up to.

Meanwhile, Hema Malini is a dancer herself and continues to do stage shows even now. Dance is a huge part of her well-being and she had performed recently in Ayodhya, ahead of the Ram Mandir consecration.

Hence, it was a treat for fans to witness these two iconic actresses and dancers of Indian cinema from different eras, together in one frame!

Apart from dance, what is common amidst them is, both fell in love with married men, one to a Punjabi and the other to a Maharastrian, and married them. They are not role models.
